Winter Jam Artist: Moriah Peters featuring TRALA

Moriah Peters is a California girl who developed a heart for God at a young age. She is one that young girls everywhere can look up to.  At just 13 years old she started writing her own songs and in 2012 released her first album entitled I Choose Jesus.  She is a great role model and an inspiration to so many!  She carried a 4.1 grade average while in high school and currently attends Grand Canyon University while on tour.  After two albums and seven years of touring, she began to battle loneliness and a desire for change.

While on a trip to Jerusalem she was open to leaving music behind for the first time.  Her prayer was simple, "Where next?"  The revelation she had is that she did not need to go anywhere, she only needed to turn around and notice who was already there with  her.  While in prayer she had the vision of the two women who remained by her side as bandmates and friends through the highs and lows of her journey so far.    It was on that trip that paved the way for TRALA.  Peters currently lives in Tennessee with her husband Joel Smallbone from the band King & Country.

Let's welcome Moriah Peters and TRALA back to the West Coast!

Winter Jam Artist: Building 429

Winter Jam is quickly approaching! I know, it's hard to fathom the word "winter" when it's still so warm out! But, we are really looking forward to this concert, especially as we heal as a city, we need this. Over the next couple weeks leading up to Winter Jam, we will be taking a look at a few of the performers.  We wanted to start with Building 429 as one of their songs has had a special place in our hearts here in Vegas the last few weeks.

Building 429 is a Christian rock band.  Their name was created from Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is  helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen". According to Jason Roy, Roy's wife Cortini had once belonged to a youth group that had a system called the "429 Challenge", based on Ephesians 4:29.  Whenever someone in the group spoke negatively about one another, others were allowed to issue a verbal "four twenty-nine".  This resulted in the offender having to say something nice to the person that was offended. That was in the year 2000.  Since then they have received four Dove nominations, several Christian Billboard hits, a Grammy's nomination and toured with Toby Mac, Thousand Foot Krutch, Casting Crowns and more!

In June of 2013, Building 429 released We Won't Be Shaken, their eighth studio album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Christian Albums chart.  Building 429's hit "We Won't be Shaken" has quickly become the song that our city is hanging onto. Las Vegas is healing.  Healing in a big way.  Loving on it's city, it's people, the community - it's just amazing to see and be a part of. The community is becoming stronger every day.  The love is seen throughout. "We Won't Be Shaken"!

Building 429's newest album "Unashamed" acknowledges that even in the midst of life's uncertainties, the bold proclamation of God's faithfulness is still possible - and fun! Unashamed's first single "Impossible" has already broken records when it received 95 radio ads out of the box, the most for any Provident artist to date!  Save the date!

Friends & Family....we've been praying for those in Florida, Puerto Rico, Texas, Mexico and many other parts of the world.  Now, it's time to include our own city in those prayers.  More than 50 people have lost their lives and over 400 injured at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

Xterious Escape

**Disclosure:  Free play was provided in exchange for a feature.  No monetary compensation was received.  Highly recommend - a ton of fun!

Living in the city of Las Vegas with two teens can sometimes find us searching for things to do and at a loss.  Sometimes I feel like teens are somewhat stuck in the middle.  There are a ton of toddler excitement in Vegas a a ton of Adult fun....but what about the in between?   I have the perfect thing - Xterious Escape!   The ultimate live escape room experience with seven different themed rooms to choose from.  We had never been and was not sure what to expect.  There was a bit of a wait as we sat in the front waiting area and watched TV while the room was being prepped, but it went by quick and the decor as well as the leader board kept us busy.  Our name was called and they took us around the corner to inform us of some rules before going in.  Once in, they locked the door behind us and we were on our own to try to solve the mystery.  I am not going to go into to much detail, I don't want to give anything away, you'll have to go check it out on your own.  But.....I was blown away as my family was as well.  SO much fun!!  Our kids absolutely loved it and what a great bonding experience.  Totally cannot wait to go again and we highly recommend to families!

What exactly is an escape room?  An escape room is a fun, live and interactive puzzle game.  You are locked in a room designed with specific clues that will lead you to the objectives to win the game!  You will be given the story for each room you play and you and the other people in the room will try to conquer that game.  Each game has a time limit of 60 minutes.  Try to see how fast you can get out to get your picture on the leaderboard.  They are also the only escape room in Las Vegas that can accommodate large groups and offer two identical rooms, head-to-head competition between teams!  For more information and too book your next escape, visit the links below!  Have fun!
