Kegal's - they are something we all know we should be doing, but how often are you really doing them? Probably not often, right!?  Whether the motivation is urinary incontinence or to rev up your sex life, the device is meant to help women of all ages, whether they're moms who need strength after childbirth or women entering menopause.  It's a device, a smartphone app, web portal designed to help women with their kegel's - something we all need help with!

PeriCoach includes built-in biosensors that let women know when they're squeezing the right muscles.  Results are instantly sent to a smartphone over a Bluetooth wireless connection.  The app collects and analyzes the readings and gives a picture of  how the user is doing over time. It can also send reports from the smartphone to a clinician or pelvic health specialist.

And...I know you are wondering, because this is something that I always check - The PeriCoach System was cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in March 2015 and is now available by prescription from a clinician, nurse or physical therapist.  PeriCoach can be ordered directly at www.PeriCoach.com with an uploaded prescription.    

Christmas in July

WestCare Nevada has teamed up with community partners Crazy Pita and Nevada Title Company for a ‘Christmas in July Drive,’ which will benefit the women and children at the nonprofit’s Women and Children’s Campus. The drive will end on July 31. So hurry and get your donations in!

Community members are asked to donate new and unwrapped baby items, including toys, blankets and clothing, as well as women’s clothing and new toiletries. Items can be dropped off at donation boxes located inside any three of the valley’s Crazy Pita restaurants or at a Nevada Title Company office branch location:

Other items needed include: Changing tables, bouncy chairs, play packs, art easels for toddlers, little creative work stations, and Baby Einstein toys with educational learning tools and games. Women and children housed at the WestCare campus will benefit from the drive, which is taking place prior to a renovation planned for the facility’s nursery on Aug. 22.

The Women and Children’s Campus  is a 33,453 square-foot facility that provides clients and their children emergency shelter, food, employment assistance, case management, education, and core supportive and wraparound services.  “We are renovating our facility little by little, and given that our next project is the nursery, it made sense to reach out to the community for support in this way,” WestCare Director of Development Darlene Terrill said. “Our clients are so grateful for all of the community support. It means the world to them and to us.”

I'm a Cali girl, meaning I grew up in California and lived there most of my life.  Living in California meant year round great weather.  Being able to grill year round was one of my favorite things to be able to do!  Nothing better than dinner off the grill!  Now, one of my favorite foods is also pizza!  Have you ever tried to grill a pizza - yum! Bring the two together and there is one good dinner!  Now that I'm in Vegas, BBQ and backyards are not what they are in Cali.  If you even have a backyard it's mostly dirt and or rocks.  Not very appealing to say the least!  Papa Murphy's Pizza is currently running their "Flavors of Summer" Sweepstakes on their Facebook page in care of Sierra Mist.  They are giving away a $25,000 backyard makeover to one lucky winner!!  That would so come in handy here in Vegas!
