Disney News

Remember Give a Day, Get a Disney Day? We featured the story this past January when the program was announced. Disney is proud to announce that they have reached their goal of inspiring one million people to volunteer service in 2010. Wordless Wednesday

another clue to a very special stop we will be making along our road trip........

Baby Safety

Rhoost is a new line of baby safety products. As my own children are older, I have not had to think about baby safety. But, I do remember when they were babies and as a first time mother, being worried about locking the cupboards, keeping the oven shut, and them hitting those sharp table corners!! Back then they were plastic and not very good looking. They were ugly, bulky, and well....just plain tacky!! Rhoost is more fashionable and modern. Fitting in with the decor more, while at the same time protecting our children. Rhoost products are made from a recyclable thermoplastic elastomer, which feels like a rubber - something I can be certain that would not hurt my child if they were to fall against it. With the plastic, the children were still capable of scraping themselves. This new product was easy to use and clean, and withheld the test of my children pulling and twisting at it.

For the sling hub pictured above - a pack of four retails for only $9.99!!

Kelly's Cake Off For A Cause

Electrolux and Kelly Ripa are joining together to support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. At a recent "cake-off" event, five teams of bakers decorated their own cakes for the cause. You love cake, don't you? Come on, you can admit it - it's for a good cause, that's your excuse this time! Kelly's Cake Off For A Cause gives you a chance to support the research by voting for your favorite cake from Kelly's Cake Off. For every vote cast, Electrolux will donate a $1.00 to OCRF as part as it's $500,000 commitment to help fight ovarian cancer! You can even decorate and send a special cake to a friend, family member or someone you love. For every cake sent, Electrolux will donate another $1.00 to OCRF.

As an added bonus - everyone who logs onto the site and sends a virtual cake will be automatically entered to win every bakers dream: a stylish new Induction range from Electrolux!

***Disclosure - This post is in being written as part of a campaign from MomSelect. This post is being for an entry to win a brand new Induction Range from Electrolux. No compensation was received for this posting.

Wordless Wednesday

(each Wordless Wednesday we will feature a clue to a place we will be visiting on our road trip - this has to be one of my favorite foods - fresh baked, warm sourdough bread!!)

Where The Wild Things Are

**Disclosure: Warner Bros provided our family with a preview copy of the movie for review. No other compensation was received.

Where The Wild Things Are - Available on Blu-Ray Combo Pack, DVD, and for Download TODAY! First off I have to say "Wow" this movie was just amazing - nothing I thought it would be. I am one of the few that have never really sat down and read the book. Just from looking at the cover it did not look like something that would be interesting or fun to read. With that said we sat down as a family to watch the movie. With in the first five minutes I had tears in my eyes. I felt for the boy who was feeling so much loneliness. With his imagination this one boy set out for an adventure of a lifetime with memories that will last forever and friendships that will always be thought of. I won't give the ending away if you have not seen this movie yet, but all I can tell you is that my six year old son as well as my five year old daughter were in tears, they just about cried themselves to sleep. I had never seem them showing so much emotion after watching a movie. I was in awe! This is one really touching movie - one that I am so thankful that I took the time to sit down and watch!

About the movie from Warner Bros -

"Where The Wild Things Are follows Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy who feels misunderstood at home, as he escapes to where the Wild Things are. Max lands on an island where he meets mysterious and strange creatures whose emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions and who are desperately longing for a leader to guide them, just as Max longs for a kingdom to rule. When Max is crowned king, he promises to create a place where everyone will be happy. But Max soon finds that ruling his kingdom is not so easy and his relationships prove to be more complicated than he originally thought."

Where The Wild Things Are is available today on Blu-Ray Combo Pack for $35.99 and on single disc DVD for $28.98.

**Today Where The Wild Things Are will also be available ON DEMAND through digital cable, satellite TV, XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 consoles and it can be downloaded for rental or purchase on iTunes and Amazon Video On Demand.
