Are you still recovering from Halloween and wiped out like me?  In our family, once we get home from taking the kids trick or treating, we pour out all their candy and go trough it.  As we go through it, we separate the chocolate from the non-chocolate candy.  And yes, there is a reason for separating.....lol shhh....my husband and I will sit up after the kids go to bed, watch a scary movie and go on a candy splurge lol!!  We all know that sugar just wipes us out - so you can imagine that my husband and I are just so tired and our bodies just feel so weighed down.   A friend of the families makes homemade Kombucha daily.  I only wish I had the motivation to do so! If you have tried Kombucha on it's own, it's definitely has it's own flavor, it's either something you can or cannot drink.  It does have a strong resemblance to a wine cooler which is why it originally threw me off.  But, luckily there are different flavors such as Blueberry Cherry, Coconut Strawberry, Tangerine and Hibiscus.  I finally did find one that I could drink which had pineapple in it which took away some of the wine cooler taste and more of a pineapple juice taste.  So if you don't mind that kind of taste, you will def love all the different flavors, if not, I would stick with one like pineapple - def one to try first for that quick pick me up.

The life changing testimonials by Phil and Al were touching, really made you think a bit, convicting for sure.  Reading this Bible, you get more in touch with Phil and Al.  You get to know them more as people, not just TV stars.   Did you know Al has served full time in the ministry for over 22 years now and is the only beardless brother in the family?!  If you are like me, sometimes it can get discouraging to read the Bible because it's so big and sometimes can be a bit hard to understand.  There are five core values that the Robertson family lives by - Faith, Family, Fellowship, Forgiveness, and freedom.  There are two list, one for Al and one for Phil that follow 52 days of insight into their family values and it's nice to get a different perspective from a father / son duo.  This is a really great Bible, my husband loves it! It's easy to ready and with all the extras it is very cost affordable compared to other Bibles.   The only thing I would change is the version, we are not fans of the Kings James Version, so I wish it came in different versions as we are each accustomed to.  Other than that it's definitely a great Bible that would make a great gift for any Duck Dynasty fan this holiday season!

Movie Monday




I'm really excited about this movie, I have not seen it yet, but it def is on my list to see.  23 Blast is based on the amazingly true story of Travis Freeman. A typical teenager growing up in a small town in Kentucky, Travis is a local hero on and off the field. In the fall of 1997, in the prime of his youth, he is unexpectedly stricken with an infection that destroys his optic nerve. He becomes blind overnight. Under the influence of parents who love him, a physical therapist who challenges him, a coach who inspires him, and a best friend who he cannot bear to leave behind, Travis shows us what true bravery is by competing on the gridiron, helping his team advance to the State playoffs.
