It's my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, today I celebrate another year.  I am so blessed to be able to wake up everyday to such a beautiful family.  I have been working on myself a lot this year.  Clearing out the negativity, watching what I put in and onto my body, smiling more, being more kind, encouraging and just enjoying the time I have.  I encourage all of you to do the same.  Life is short.  Don't hold grudges, forgive, apologize and just be kind.  Our world and next generation need us to set that example.......now - off to celebrate!

REAL BODIES at Bally's

 

With summertime coming to an end and kids are about to head back to school, these next couple weeks can certainly drag out.  If you are looking for something fun and interesting to do with the kids (or even a date night idea) look no further! Our family was invited for a hosted day out to explore the exhibit.  Now I have teens that we homeschooled through high school and just this last year we completed anatomy.  So this is a great opportunity to dig a bit deeper in what we learned and see first hand the human body.  Real Bodies at Bally's is located in Bally's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. It's located on Bally's Lower Level right near the Flamingo Road entrance.  My best advice if you are local is to park at the Paris Hotel and Casino as you get the first three hours free with a local ID.   This place will blow you away as you take a close up look inside of the human body.  It's crazy to see what all inside of us!

What is even more astonishing is that these are real human specimens.  Isn't that just crazy! Still blows my mind.  It really makes you want to stop, study and really learn about your body.  My kids were fascinated.  It even explores the element of just breathing.  My kids both played baseball / softball so really loved this exhibit here.  They both had joint tears and bone fractures, so it was pretty cool to see the joint that my son tore in his elbow or the fracture my daughter had in her foot and exactly where they were and what the inside looked like.  Lot's of interesting stuff and again, it's a great learning experience for all ages!  It look us about 45 minutes to walk through.  But can take longer or shorter depending on how in depth you want to study each exhibit.

The closest location to Vegas is Needles, CA.  They also have locations in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado to name a few.  An entry level position for example would be a conductor trainee.  Great way to get your foot in the door!

Times are changing. Prices are going up. There's more and more chemicals put in our foods. More and more people are looking for all natural, chemical free and fresh food! One of my favorite things about living in Vegas is being a short drive away from beautiful, green Utah!  We try and head up there any chance we get.  Sometimes the desert gets to you and you need to just take your shoes off and run around in the grass.  In Utah we can do just that! With that, something else you'll find in Utah is family farms. Good ol' fashion generational family farms. Grassy Mountain Beef is a six generation, family owned ranch based in St. George, Utah. 

Their cows roam free over hundreds of miles on the Arizona boarder. They offer nutritious grass-fed beef and lamb.  Yes, the prices are a bit higher, but remember, you are paying for fresh, grass-fed product.  Grassy Mountain Beef provided us with a small sample of their beef.  We are a meat eating family and also have been working hard to watch what we put into our bodies and trying to go more for clean products.  There is a slight taste difference.  But....that is the taste of freshness.

These are some fresh T-bone steaks.  Steak is our favorite. Although my husband and I don't agree on the cut, we always have to pick our own. I like a more lean steak and he goes for the more fatty ones.  We marinated these overnight in some olive oil and spices.  Husband cooked them on the grill (which is the best way, everything is always better on the grill!). They were so good! I highly suggest giving them a try.  What better time to support our American Farmers!

This is the show guys! Fall Tour Schedule Begins Sept. 7

WHAT:
Enjoy Southern Nevada’s most beautiful fall weather with Rail Explorers, the all-ages, outdoor-adventure attraction featuring pedal-powered rail bikes. All rides start at the Nevada State Railroad Museum and continue downhill to Railroad Pass. Each tour also includes a nostalgic ride back to the top of the hill in one of the museum’s historic trains, along with free museum entry.

Rail Explorers Las Vegas tours include three memorable options, including the Southwest Ramble, a four-mile downhill pedal-powered daytime ride; the Sunset Tour, a picturesque downhill ride in the evening as the sun sets behind the River Mountains; and the Evening Lantern Tour, a one-of-a-kind experience illuminated by the glow from the moon and stars.

With weather still hot in September, only Sunset and Evening Lantern Tours will be offered from Sept. 7 through 23. The Science Behind The Fun:

As time passes (and the solution cools), the water will slowly evaporate from the solution. As the water evaporates, the solution will become more saturated with sugar. The sugar molecules will collect on the string, and the candy crystals will grow molecule by molecule!

Extra Science Fun:

Try making two jars of candy. In the first jar - seed your “Crystal Gem” Candy by rolling your string in water and sugar. In the second jar do not seed your string with sugar before growing. Determine if using seed sugar crystals changes the growth rate of your “Crystal Gem” Candy!

Operation Summer Camp

• Description: In the ninth installment of The Mob Museum’s community safety forum virtual series, the discussion will focus on the unique challenges Las Vegas faces while responding to COVID-19. The forum will also cover the prospects for therapeutic medicines and vaccines, and what it’s like to work on an outbreak of this scale. This event is sponsored by NV Energy.

Untangling the Web: The Kennedys, the Mob and Las Vegas

• Description: For brothers John and Robert Kennedy, the connections to Las Vegas ranged from sex to politics, including a government investigation threatening to shut down the city.
