Are you running out of things to keep the kids busy this summer? Pinot's Palette invited our family over for an afternoon of painting to experience the new craze. Our daughter was super excited and my son, well, let's just say he didn't complain! As soon as we walked in I was absolutely blown away! You remember that feeling when you were a kid walking into a huge toy store and just in awe? That was it! The entire place just popped, it was full of color, creativity and smiles. We picked the painting we wanted to paint, got our colors, apron and took our seats ready to paint!
They give you instructions on a sheet of paper, very easy to follow, even for the kids. The paint brushes were numbered and the paint was given on a paper plate with every color you would need to create your masterpiece. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the kids, painting and expressing our creativity. My son had even made a comment that it was so relaxing that he could do it all day! There were a few places where the kids seemed to get stuck a bit, but there was always an employee walking around to assist. In the picture to the right, you can see they were drawing a chalk outline for her to follow as she painted. That helped her extremely!
I know during summer without a doubt it can be hard to keep the kids busy and you sure don't want them sitting around the house all day! One reason I think we enjoyed it more was that it was something different. Something new and not our same old routine. I highly recommend a family day at Pinot's Palette! Open Studio - Paint on a 10x10 canvas using written instructions with step-by-step pictures. (any age) Monthly at each studio, usually on Saturday afternoons and school holidays. $20 per painter
Kids Camp - Afternoon of painting fun! Ages 7+ Camps run from 1pm to 4pm $40 per camper
Date Nights - Each painter paints a separate canvas that goes together to form a complementary set. $39 a painter
Pallet Wood Creations - Paint on reclaimed pallet wood. $45 per painter
Project Pet - Paint a portrait of your pet from a photo you email before hand. The creation will end on a 16"x20" canvas.
