Despicable Me

**Disclosure: Universal Pictures provided my family and I tickets to a media screening of the movie - no compensation was received and all opinions are of my own. Your opinion may vary.

Tomorrow, Friday July 9Th Despicable Me will finally open in theaters! I am predicting that this is going to top the box offices AND even top Toy Story......but that's just my prediction. I'll be the first to admit - that when I first saw the previews I did not take a liking to this movie. When I went to see it I went with an open mind and am so glad I did. This movie was amazingly funny and so cute - it really is the perfect family summer movie! Honestly I can't even pick a favorite character. The Minions are just so darn cute and huggable, Despicable Me you find yourself having a love/hate relationship with (reminds me of my husband at times LOL) and the little girls in the movie help bring the comedy out. Take a look at a clip of the movie below - (one of my favorite parts)

Synopsis -
In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences and flowering rose bushes sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of mischievous little minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell) planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal’s new 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me.

Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. That is, until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.

One of the world’s greatest super-villains has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes

Although this movie is in 3D - I felt it was not necessary to watch it in 3D as there aren't very many eye-popping moments. My advice - don't waste your money on seeing it in 3D - use the money for some yummy theater snacks and enjoy a family day out!

Despicable Me is Mommy Approved!!! Is it a movie the kids will watch over and over AND be worth buying once out on video - YES!!
