Nathan Sykes & Little Mix at Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas

Disclosure: Our family was provided tickets to Wet 'n' Wild to help facilitate this post.

If you haven't yet been to Wet n' Wild Las Vegas, you're missing out!  Last weekend we had the opportunity to visit and I'll have to admit, I think it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable weekends I have had all summer! I honestly have been putting off a trip there all summer, mainly because what I thought I would see, which in fact it was the total opposite.  I expected tons of unruly kids running around along with teens running the park.  Boy, was I wrong!  I was really impressed of the layout as well as the crowd.  In fact, I would say it was mostly families that were at the park, which was really enjoyable to see, especially here in Vegas.

I do want to share a couple tips.  First, get there early!  Don't wait to go on the rides like we did, the later it gets, the longer the lines get.  Get there when they open and hit the rides so that the rest of the day you can relax and just get some sun!  They do have food in the park, reasonably priced.  I think we spent around $60 for the day on food and drinks and we are a family of four.  Don't get the burger, it was really dry and no good.  The kids loved the pizza and I thought the chicken tenders were hoof the hook! They give you a large amount of food too! There is also a hidden gem, a food cart in the  middle of the park, which we did not find until after we had lunch, but ordered anyway because it looked and smelled amazing!  There is guy with a little set up in the middle of the park. He makes rice along with Hawaiian food.  Oh my, it was so good!  We were sad we did not find this place before hand.  Highly recommend him!  They also have free water throughout the park as well as sunscreen stations to help prevent you from getting burnt.  Oh - and get a cabana, def worth it! As soon as we got there, they brought us a bucket of ice, some waters and a small bowl of fresh fruit.  It was nice to have the covered and reserved shade when needed without having to worry about losing our seats!

This weekend Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas brings, Nathan Sykes and Little Mix performances to Las Vegas' Summer Playground.

Tonight, rocker Nathan Sykes will perform at the Red Rock Bay wave pool.  Sykes will preform three songs and host a meet and greet prior to the preformance.  The exclusive backstage experience will be for winners chosen from social media and radio contests.  The concert is presented in partnership with 93.1 The Party.

Tomorrow at 5pm, Saturday, Aug. 8th, pop icons Little Mix will be performing at the Red Rock Bay wave pool.  The group will perform two songs and host a meet and greet prior to the performance. The exclusive backstage experience will be for winners chosen from a radio contest.  The concert is presented with 98.5 KLUC.

Back to School with Old Navy

It's about that time when back to school season slowly creeps upon us. This year, Old Navy asked kids at Boys & Girls Clubs around the country what it means to be #Unlimited.  The result? An inspirational song and music video featuring some of AwesomenessTV's biggest starts.

All this with the hope of empowering kids of all ages this back to school season.  Written by acclaimed music producer Cisco Adler and Alex Aiono, the song is performed by AwesomenessTV talents Alex Aiono, the Cimorelli, Jordyn Jones, Josh Levi, Mahogany Lox and YouTuber Megan Nicole.  YouTube music video director and musician Kurt Hugo Schneider directed the video and captured it in one continuous take.

This year's music video features talent dressed in special edition Old Navy #Unlimited t-shirts. The shirts are available for girls and boys in Old Navy stores and online.  Designed to give back, 20 percent of the proceeds, up to  $75,000, from sales of the shirts in the U.S. and Canada will help support BGCA and BGCC.

Visit www.oldnavy.com/unlimited to learn more!

The tees are the centerpiece of a larger Camp Old Navy fundraising effort to benefit BGCA and BGCC. From July 24 to August 19, 2015, Old Navy will match in-store customer donations to BGCA and BGCC up to US$415,000. Customers can participate in the fundraiser by donating at the register at all stores, buying an #Unlimited tee or downloading the #Unlimited song at oldnavy.bandcamp.com. Donations from song downloads, which Old Navy will match up to US$10,000, will be donated directly to Boys & Girls Club of Malibu where songwriter Cisco Adler is an active supporter.

Bonding with your Baby

*Disclosure: This is a paid post and content was provided.

Most babies in the U.S. are born in the summer months, according to research.  While July, August and September appear to be the most popular months to give birth, Tuesday was ranked as the most likely day for newborn deliveries.

But even before the birth, parents can be concerned about bonding with their little one.  From the 23rd week on, an unborn baby’s hearing is developed enough to enable them to respond to outside noise.  But once the baby is born, parents have more questions about how the parent-baby bonding occurs and what they need to do to help make that attachment happen.  The bonding journey may take time and can be different for both moms and dads.

Popular pediatrician and author Dr. William Sears has teamed up with Huggies to provide tips for bonding with baby - from pre-birth to the first diaper change.

“Leaker’s Anonymous”

Yes, we all do it at one time or another! Millions of moms leak when they sneeze, cough, laugh, lift, jump and run.  In fact, childbirth is proven to be related to post-partum urinary incontinence. But, just because it's common doesn't mean leaking is normal.
Now, here to take the embarrassment and stigma out of this topic is “Leaker’s Anonymous” by the creative team behind the popular and ground-breaking “Period Fairy” and “Camp Gyno” videos,  Helloflo’s Naama Bloom and Sara Saedi.   Directed by Daniel Beers for PeriCoach, a new, FDA-approved pelvic floor muscle training device + smartphone app, Leaker’s Anonymous will help get leaking out into the open,  ease the conversation about the condition and help women get the help they need to reduce or eliminate the problem.

DISCOVERY Children's Museum Las Vegas

**Disclosure: Free tickets were provided to help facilitate this feature. All opinions are 100% my own.

This past weekend, we decided to get out of the heat and visit the DISCOVERY Children's Museum here in Vegas.  We've lived here for about four years and have not yet had a chance to get over there, so figured we'd get the kids out for a bit and check it out. DISCOVERY Children's Museum at Symphony Park in downtown Las Vegas provides the perfect setting for children and families to learn something new and have fun doing it. My kids are ten and twelve.  When we first walked in, I think they were very apprehensive as 95% of the kids there were under ten.   While I do believe it is geared toward younger children, there are still plenty of learning to do for older children as well.   The museum addresses its core educational areas of science and nature, art and culture and early childhood development with 26,000 sq. ft. of interactive hands-on exhibits.  With featured traveling exhibitions, daily programs, demonstrations and activities and collaborative cultural programming for all occasions, it all adds up, with lots of informal learning opportunities.

DISCOVERY Children's Museum's current traveling exhibit is Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice.  Kids get to travel back in time to when dinosaurs last roamed the land.  As you move through the exhibit, you encounter unfamiliar landscapes, touchable dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes including a Tyrannosaurs Rex and a Triceratops.  This exhibit builds on the popular fascination with dinosaurs and includes science activities to challenge all ages and opportunities to investigate what dinosaurs left behind.

Given the age of my children, we were in and out in under two hours.  I do highly recommend visiting for children under ten years of age.  The little ones would be occupied for hours! A great way to get out of the house and stay out of the heat!

Enjoy 20% off General Admission Tickets throughout the summer at DISCOVERY Children's Museum.  Explore the museum and see the Dinosaurs!

Discount is good only for daily admission tickets for a party up to four (4) tickets per coupon. Not valid with any other offer.
