Seven Spoons

One thing I love about shopping at Costco is their variety of brands, flavors and products you normally cannot find at the local grocery store.   Seven Spoons is one of those brands.  Our family was sent a product to try out and share our feedback on with you.  Now, believe it or not had never tried Indian food, so this was something I was anxious and excited to try! Seven Spoons Food is the maker of all-natural, internationally inspired skillet meals that are ready at home in just 15 minutes. Now this is a new company offering all-natural skillet meals to customers in the Southwest region of the country.  The first product available to consumers is this delicious Chicken Biryani dish - a bright, bold Indian dish.  Though, like me, the name of this dish may not be familiar to you, this chef-created wholesome dish is easy to prepare and packed full of flavor that even the most conservative palette will enjoy.  Aromatic basmati rice, perfectly seasoned chicken, caramelized onions and dry roasted cashews blend perfectly together in a savory masala sauce.  I could not believe how quickly this was to put together! Let me take you through it!
  • First I put the loose contents of the bag on the stove -
  • While that was cooking - I placed the rice bags in the microwave for a few minutes
  • Once the chicken mixture cooked (under 10 min) I mixed everything together in the pan and here is the end result -

I had cooked this on a day where my husband had worked overtime, was exhausted and a hungry man, so I needed something fast but filling.   Talk about fast, he didn't even have time to take a quick shower - this was super quick and could not be any more easier than it already was.  The dish itself was great! This is a spicy dish, but most Indian food has some kick to it anyway.   The chicken was flavored just right and I loved the added cashews!  Awesome dish!
